Navigate to a Hive instance configuration contained in the Backup set.
Right click on the Hive instance configuration and select "Partial Restore". From the Partial Restore view, follow the steps below:
-
Select target Hive instance
Select the target Hive instance you want to restore the Modules into. If not set, the source hive instance will be used.
-
Select Modules to restore
Select the Modules you wish to restore. Only Modules that are included in the backup set can be selected.
-
Change Overridable values
Optionally change Overridable Values
Run the partial restore job
Click on the "Run Partial Restore" button to start the partial restore job.
You are only allowed to run a partial restore job if the option combination is valid. The option combination is validated against the Backup set content.
Any warnings or errors returned from the restore job will show up in the Information part.
Be aware of the order when restoring Modules. Some Module configurations can be dependent on other Module configurations.
- Modules that create Global Attributes must be restored prior to Modules which has Items that uses them.
- Modules that hosts items which are used as External items must be restored prior to the consuming Modules.
- Semantic Modules that hosts Namespace types must be included when restoring, or restored prior to, consuming Semantic Modules.
The selected target Hive instance will be started during partial restore, if it is not running.
Matching target Modules and their items will replaced with the selected Modules from the Backup set.
It might be necessary to restart data acquisition Modules after restore, in order to establish connection to remote servers.
