Apis Management Studio
Apis Management Studio (AMS) is the configuration tool for the Apis product range.
It's able to connect to supported servers, and configure or view the status of these servers. The supported functionality of AMS will change depending on which servers are connected. For instance, for many servers that support it, there could be historical values displayed. Other servers may support viewing of real-time data. The main idea, however, is that all servers support a hierarchical data structure that is displayed in the Solution Explorer, and the items in the hierarchy have properties which can be viewed and manipulated in the Property Editor.
The Apis Management Studio (AMS) consists of different parts that interact with each other. The image below shows the AMS before any services have been connected.
The left-most part is the Solution Explorer. This is where you connect to the servers which are to be configured. The Solution Explorer will also display the currently connected servers in a tree view. The tree view consists of items that can be clicked, and the properties of the last clicked item will be displayed in the Property Editor. The Solution Explorer is searchable from the search box at the top.
The middle part of the application consists of different kinds of views. The views available depend on which servers are connected. For instance if a Hive instance is connected, data views can be created which show the current status of Hive items.
The right-most part is the Property Editor, where properties of objects can be changed. The Property Editor will display the properties of the objects most recently selected in the Solution Explorer and in the data views.
Apis Management Studio is installed by the Apis Foundation Setup Kit. Once installed, it's available through the All Programs menu in Windows.
